Segments

Basic design principle

The basic design of NOTTER die segments is, as far as necessary, identical to that of conventional segments, thereby offering the same functional advantages:

  • Significantly reduced set-up and cleaning times
  • Considerable increase in output quantity
  • Easier storage

Pioneering design

The key innovation of NOTTER die segments is the use of specially designed inserts. With a conventional segment, the die shape is directly incorporated into the segment and has only a basic, thin layer of surface hardening. By contrast, NOTTER segments feature fully hardened die inserts that are precision-fitted into the segment.

This provides the perfect basis for a flexible choice of materials that can be adapted perfectly to any application. An added benefit: the inserts can be replaced cost-effectively in the case of wear or design changes to the die shape.

For maximum productivity and cost-effectiveness

  • Fully hardened die inserts – for high pressing force and maximum resistance to wear
  • Flexible choice of materials, perfectly tailored to the application – ceramics and carbide can also be used easily
  • Low corrosion to corrosion resistance – rapid, easy cleaning in a washer or ultrasonic bath
  • Easy, low-cost renewal in the case of wear or changes to the die shape (multi-cavity dies also possible) – The majority of the cost of a new segment is saved
